School Capital Campaign

Securing our future as a school is vitally important to our mission as a parish.  Many generations of students and their families will benefit immeasurably from the sacrifices we make today to make this future possible. See below to learn about our school and our plans.

Our Plan

Currently, the plan is to build a new K-5 School building. The structure would connect to the present parish hall and co-use the hall for certain functions, namely school lunches and P.E. The parish events which rely on the hall would continue to use its facilities. The new building would be equipped with everything it needs to meet state standards as well as provide an optimal Catholic education for generations of students.

This rendition pictures a facade of the front of the new school building which is consistent with the style of the parish hall and the rest of campus.  While other parts of the building may have more of other elements besides brick, the style will remain consistent.  In this picture, the door on the right is the north entrance of the parish hall.

This is a rendition of a new new pre-k classroom included in the design.  HTK architects has done a great job making sure that all standards are met.

This rendition of an elementary classroom shows the opportunity to give an optimal space for the education our students and their families deserve.

Multipurpose and special spaces, such as the library pictured here, would continue the personalized and formative educational experience which properly equipped facilities offer.

The Design
The Design

The research and study conducted by HTK architects and explored by the building committee determined that it would likely cost upwards of $7 million to renovate the current school (see below for more information on the problems with the current building).  This is due to the many issues that would need to be addressed in bringing the building to an acceptable condition.  The committee also acknowledges that we would be likely to discover new areas of need as this hypothetical renovation would continue.  The plan therefore is to raise funds to put together the new building you see in the general concept above.

We cannot stress this enough: it is absolutely imperative that we do something to address the problems with the current school’s condition.  If we were to simply continue with minor repairs and temporary fixes as the needs manifested themselves, we may only persevere a few more years before the school becomes unusable.  In addition, we want to provide the space that our community deserves, as it would be used by Sacred Heart School, Catholic Youth Formation (CYF), Sacramental preparation, and more.  We will always need classroom space, and the school will always be a vitally important part of our mission as a parish.  This is our chance to ensure that for many future generations, as others from the past have done for us.

Present Conditions Call For Immediate Action

The present school building has a number of issues due to long term decay and inadequate conditions, including problems with structure, utilities, accessibility and energy efficiency.
