Summer greetings, CYF Families!
We are excited to begin another year of Catholic Youth Formation at Sacred Heart. We will open our CYF year on Sunday, August 23 with a “Meet and Greet” in the parish hall after the 10 am Mass. Parents and students will meet teachers and pick up materials for the year. This year all our classes will continue to meet Sunday mornings from 11:15am-12:15pm.
New this year, Continuing Catholic Formation will be held during that same time beginning September 20, providing an opportunity for you and any adult or teen to do just that- continue to grow in understanding and love of your Catholic faith. This class will meet in the church office. I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity occasionally or every week. As parents, the way you live your faith makes a huge impression on how your children understand our faith, so please plan to learn this year, too!
At Sacred Heart, we commit ourselves to living as disciples of Jesus Christ and responding in gratitude for the many gifts we receive from our Lord. It remains important that we are all active in our parish community beyond CYF through receiving the sacraments, tithing, and participation in the many works of our parish. With this in mind, at least one parent from each SHS and CYF family must attend Father Haganey’s Discipleship Presentation on either Wednesday, August 19 at 6:15 pm or Sunday, September 13 at 11:15am.
In addition, beginning this fall, all students attending SHS or CYF will be required to sign in at Mass. More details about this will be coming.
Finally, Year 1 Confirmation students (7th grade) and their parents will have a brief Confirmation orientation meeting at 11:50 on August 23 in the parish hall.
Please note these important dates:
August 9 - Early Registration discount ends. Registration continues, but fee increases after this date. We are discontinuing our payment plan option and ask that all fees be paid by September 15. If financial assistance is needed, contact me please. No family will ever be turned away for financial reasons.
August 11, 6:00pm, parish hall. Virtus Training opportunity for adults.This is needed for anyone 16+ who volunteers with children. Pre-registration required at virtusonline.org.
August 18 at 6:15 pm OR September 13 at 11:15am - Father Haganey’s Discipleship Presentation. Every family is required to have a parent attend.
August 23, 11:15 am - 1st day of CYF “Meet & Greet” for parents and students in the Parish Hall. This will be a come and go event, not a full class, and an opportunity to pay fees if you haven’t yet.
August 23, 11:50 am - Year 1 Confirmation orientation meeting
August 30, 11:15 am- 1st Communion Parent Meeting in the church office
September 19 (Saturday): Year 2 Confirmation (mandatory for all Yr 2 students) More details coming soon.

After you complete this form, a link is available to fill out the student-specific form. You will find the link above the QR code in blue, all capital letters. Registration is not done until you complete and submit both the parent and student forms.
